High Definition Televisions are purchased everyday by the consumer due to lower prices that are making the purchase more attractive. A 46 Inch LCD TV is considered quite large in terms of TV screens. The majority of LCD TV’s are between 30 and 40 inches but until recently, 46 Inch LCD TV's are gaining in popularity and are increasing in sales.

Sony and Samsung are the leaders of LCD HDTV’s. They provide a high quality visual and audio experience and are designed last longer than many of their competitors. There are differences you need to take in consideration when your looking to purchase one of these LCD TV’s.

• Screen Formatting: Most TV’s have a wide-screen aspect ratio of 16:9 or commonly known as Full HD 1080p Resolution. This resolution displays a clear and concise picture and makes a difference in the quality of the picture.
• Speaker Placement: Most flat panel TV’s take up less space and many manufacturers are installing the speakers on the sides of the TV. If you do have limited space, be sure to have the speakers placed on the bottom so you do not have to forfeit screen size to make the TV fit within your constraints.
• Contrast Ratio: Always look for a high contrast ratio (above 1000:1). What does this represent? It means the brightest white is 1000 times brighter than the blackest black. In other words, the higher the ratio the sharper the picture.

• HDMI: (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) This is an interface system for depicting high quality input and output ports. The LCD TV should have at least one HDMI port, possibly two. These ports will allow you to have separate video and audio cables which will deliver the sharpest picture and uncompromised surround sound.

• Picture in Picture:  This allows you to view more than one show, movie or sport events at a once.  This is a perfect solution when your favorite show or sports event is playing at the exact time.
